I'm hoping someone would be able to give me a clue into what's happening here because I don't see any posts with this type of issue for this version of Ubuntu with this wireless adapter.Īppreciate any assistance that can be afforded.EW-7727In is a wireless PCI adapter which provides a simple and easy way to add or upgrade wireless connectivity to your desktop computer. In my fiddling I've found out that if I have constant ping running the wireless never drops. If I disable the wireless and re-enable, I get back my wireless connection and it again works for some random period. The problem is that with the built-in drivers, wireless works for a random period of time (not more than an hour ) then my wireless disconnects - there's a question mark instead of the wifi bars in the status bar at the top right hand corner of the screen. I removed the custom drivers as I understand 18.04 should support the card with the built in drivers and it does. After upgrading to 18.04 the drivers did not work. When I was on 17.10 it worked with the rtlwifi_new wireless drivers. I have an Edimax Technology Co., Ltd EW-7811Un 802.11n USB Wireless Adapter which Ubuntu (18.04) on my system recognizes as Realtek RTL8188CUS. ![]()
